Boardroom Salon for Men is capitalizing on men’s increasing interest in upscale grooming services.
The Texas-based company has opened its first location in Arizona, at Lincoln Marketplace in Scottsdale, giving it a total of 36 locations. Boardroom plans to open an additional 11 locations this year, targeting Phoenix, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, and will also enter North Carolina for the first time, opening in Raleigh and Charlotte. The company hopes to grow to 92 salons in the next four years.
Boardroom’s expansion follows an infusion of funding last summer from Los Angeles–based private equity firm LightBay Capital.
"This is an exciting time for Boardroom, as we've recently partnered with LightBay Capital to accelerate expansion efforts more rapidly," said Bruce Schultz, co-founder and CEO of Boardroom Salon for Men. "These are important markets for us, as we're seeing high demand for additional growth. We're looking forward to expanding our presence in these states and providing more men with a comfortable place to relax and get ready."
Husband-and-wife team Bruce and Heather Schultz launched Boardroom in 2004. It is designed to be a comfortable, masculine, 1920s country club-inspired salon offering haircuts, shaves and spa services. The space features dark wood paneling, a lounge with oversized leather chairs, a pool table and an upbeat vibe. The Benchmark is the salon's signature service, which includes: a tailored cut, rejuvenating paraffin hand dip, energizing shampoo and conditioning, scalp and hand massage, steamed towel and more.
Boardroom offers a three, six or 12-month membership plan, which provides members unlimited haircut services, plus 10% off all products and complimentary referral Benchmarks to giveaway.
