Schimenti Construction to build Buybuy Baby in Fashion Center, Paramus, N.J.

Ridgefield, Conn. -- Schimenti Construction has announced that it has been selected to build a new Buybuy Baby in the Fashion Center, Paramus, N.J. The 53,028-sq.-ft. store will be on the third floor of the shopping mall.

Designed by Greenberg Farrow Architecture, Arlington Heights, Ill., the store will present a construction challenge in that is has very limited accessibility for bringing in required construction materials.

“To solve this challenge we have developed a plan that will remove a portion of the existing façade which will then allow us to easily hoist all the equipment and materials we need up to the third floor,” said Anthony Saoulidis, Schimenti project manager. “We expect construction to begin in early July and be completed within 18 weeks.”

Buybuy Baby is an upscale retailer offering a broad selection of products including baby furniture, car seats, high chairs, toys and complete lines of infants and toddlers clothing. In 2007, it was purchased by Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. confirmed the broad appeal and enormous growth potential of the Buybuy Baby.

Since 2003, Schimenti Construction has built nearly 40 Bed Bath & Beyond projects.
