Report: Sam’s Club testing solar

11/25/2009

New York City Sam’s Club is testing solar at five locations, according to Supermarket News. The wholesale club store also is looking into radiant flooring and energy-efficient refrigeration measures.

Additionally, Sam’s Club is doing three tests of carbon dioxide refrigeration systems that should help prevent the release of ozone into the atmosphere, the report said.

Additionally, at a prototype store in Sacramento, Calif., Sam’s Club is testing a range of efficiency measures, including a radiant flooring system that uses water cooled on the roof by means of an evaporative cooling tower.
