An online eyewear brand is bringing its irreverent attitude and trendy styles to brick-and-mortar.
Eyebobs is now open at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, Md. The 1,000-sq.-ft. store is the company’s seventh location to date, and fourth to open this year.
Based in Minneapolis, Eyebobs was founded in 2001 and gained a cult following online for its boldly designed reading glasses. The company expanded into prescription eyewear in fall 2017, the same year that it opened its first physical location. Currently, it is looking at a number of new locations, but no new leases have yet been signed, a spokesperson told Chain Store Age.
Eyebobs carries more than 400 frames styles and colors in readers and blue light in-stock at the store, as well as fulfills orders for single vision, progressive and custom blue light. It sells premium readers for $89; prescription glasses are $199.
“Eyebobs is dedicated to helping every customer frame their personality and be their true and authentic selves,” said Mike Hollenstein, CEO, Eyebobs. “Shopping should be a fun experience and we can’t wait to better serve our customers in the Washington, D.C., market with this new store.”
