Times Square is in for a sweet treat.
Krispy Kreme plans to open a flagship in early 2020 in Times Square, on Broadway and 48th Street, that it promises will offer “the most awesome doughnut experience imaginable.” In addition to hot, fresh doughnuts round the clock, the 24-hour outpost will feature the world’s largest “hot light,” immersive and interactive digital experiences and exclusive merchandise.
The 4,500-sq.-ft. store, which is expected to serve more customers annually than any other Krispy Kreme location in the world, will showcase the doughnut-making process from start to finish, from the mixing of raw ingredients to the brand’s iconic glaze “waterfall.” Customers will be able to enjoy their purchases while sitting in an stadium-styled seating area designed as the world’s largest Krispy Kreme doughnut box.
For customers on the go, the flagship will feature an exterior walk-up window and an interior grab-and-go counter.
“In the most iconic city in the world, the Krispy Kreme Times Square Flagship will showcase our brand on the global stage and inspire customer wonder,” said Michael Tattersfield, CEO and president, Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corp. “We love making awesome doughnuts – and New Yorkers deserve hot and fresh doughnuts!”
