Kohl’s has received a high honor for its energy-saving accomplishments, which included new HVAC technologies and an LED upgrade in 2018.

The department store retailer has received the 2019 Energy Star Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award for continued leadership and superior contributions to the EPA’s Energy Star program. The highest honor among Energy Star awards, the Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award is given to partners that have already received Energy Star Partner of the Year recognition for a minimum of two consecutive years and have gone above and beyond the criteria needed to qualify for recognition.

In partnership with Energy Star, Kohl’s continues to evaluate our energy footprint across the country to increase operational efficiency and reduce our carbon footprint."

• Holding an annual re-commissioning summit for employees to identify and discuss low-cost best practices for saving energy in existing equipment; and
• Promoting Energy Star to associates and customers through overhead announcements, customer receipts, banner ads on envelopes, screensavers, websites, and internal reports.
