Kimco Realty installing electric vehicle charging stations at seven centers

New York -- Kimco Realty and NRG eVgo, part of NRG Energy, opened the Bay Area’s first electric vehicle charging station, at Westlake Shopping Center, Daly City, Calif.



The eVgo Freedom Station at Westlake offers both rapid and traditional EV charging. It is the first of seven sites planned at Kimco’s retail centers throughout California, with the next slated for Corona Hills Plaza, Corona. The station will be able to charge a car up to 80% within 30 minutes. The station also offers a Level 2 charger, which can provide up to 24 miles of range per hour of charge.



The charging stations are the latest step in Kimco’s recent corporate responsibility initiative.
