Casper, the hot online mattress start-up, has opened the first of 15 planned pop-up stores across the nation.
The company made its retail debut at Ponce City Market in Atlanta. The store features Casper’s full line of product, which now includes bedding, pillows, duvet covers and even dog beds. But the star of the show is the brand's signature mattress, which is displayed in a series of bedroom vignettes, each one complete with walls and with its own distinctive aesthetic. (The new Casper Wave mattress is also featured).
Upcoming Casper locations include Short Hills Mall, Short Hills, New Jersey, and three in New York State (Westchester Mall, White Plains; Walt Whitman Shops, Huntington Station: and Westfield World Trade Center.) The pop-ups, Casper's first significant investment in a company-owned retail presence across the U.S., will be open through spring of 2018.
Launched in 2014. Casper quickly developed a cult following for its mattress, which is made of memory and latex foams, and delivered in a box. The mattress, available in a variety of sizes, comes with a 100-day money-back trial
"The demand to experience our products in-person has continued to grow exponentially," said Philip Krim, Casper co-founder and CEO. "Casper retail environments allow us to seamlessly traverse online and offline, which we believe is paramount to an exceptional customer journey."
In June, Casper entered into a partnership with Target Corp. Under the terms of the deal, the Casper mattress will be available at Target (online only) in a variety of sizes, with other Casper products available in select Target stores and on the retailer’s website.
