Godiva set to debut café concept in the U.S.
Godiva is extending its push into the café business to the United States.
The luxury chocolate brand will open its first U.S. café on April 18. Located on Lexington Avenue in Manhattan, the 1,200-sq.-ft. store will feature grab-n-go items, including salads and sandwiches, along with specialty beverages and desserts. It will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., with seating for about 20.
The Lexington Avenue café is the first of many locations that Godiva plans to open in the Americas in the coming months. By yearend, 10 more cafes are slated to open in the Northeast. Looking long term, Godiva plans to expand the model to 2,000 locations worldwide, with over a third in North America.
While the Godiva café concept is new to America, it is already up and running in some 40 foreign locations, including an outpost in Harrods in London.
