Quicklee's, a family-owned regional convenience-store chain operating in New York State, has opened a new format that is designed to appeal to travelers, truckers and local folks alike.

Located in Avon, New York, Quicklee's Travel Center features amenities for truckers, including showers, laundromat, overnight parking, and a truck maintenance facility. The format features a 9,000-sq.-ft. convenience store that includes a central cafe and community space, complete with a fireplace, that encourages visitors to linger.

Designed by d/fab, Madison Heights, Mich., (the firm also designed, manufactured and installed the decor and graphic elements), the store interior has a contemporary look and friendly, welcoming atmosphere, with historical photos that reference the Avon locale. The design features neutral materials of reclaimed wood planking and ledgestone, accented by the bold lime green and cyan blue colors of the brand icon. The "clock" icon is used throughout the space in signage, custom drum lights and wall graphics.

With a front and rear entrance, the space has two different retail areas. The one with the rear entrance has an assortment that focuses on the needs of professional truck drivers, while the front entrance leads to the area that caters to regular traffic. It includes a wide assortment of food options, including an on-site Dunkin' Donuts.
