Cub Foods to Seek LEED Gold

1/26/2009

New York City Cub Foods is seeking LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification for its new store in St. Paul, Minn. To date, only 14 retail stores in the nation claim the Gold designation.

The store has already received EPA GreenChill Gold-level certification, which is given for outstanding use of environmentally friendly refrigeration technology. With the aid of Design Services Group engineering, the supermarket reduced its refrigerant charge by 65% compared to the industry standard.
