Bond No.9 transforms Manhattan store with Versailles-inspired design

10/24/2014

New York--Fragrance marketer Bond No. 9’s flagship in downtown Manahttan has undergone a total redesign, with the interior modeled on a 21st century version of the Palace of Versailles’ Hall of Mirrors.

Smoky mirrors dominate the space—on the walls, lining the built-in wall-niches, and on the freestanding showcases. The company’s vividly colored fragrance boxes are displayed and reflected multiple times throughout the gallery-like space. The store also has a 16-ft.-long consultation and custom blending table. The furnishings and décor were designed by Bond No.9 founder and president Laurice Rahmé.

The details include a curved lacquer-lipstick-red bar and checkout desk, huge crystal chandeliers (several encased in openwork iron gyres) and matching standing lamps, plus a mirrored library. Other highlights include the table with Swarovski crystal-studded bottles and a candle table.
