At Home has big plans for California

7/15/2019
At Home Group has hit a store milestone as it continues to expand its store portfolio across the country.

The value-oriented home décor retailer opened its 200th store, in San Diego. The opening comes on the heels of At Home’s recent expansion into California, where it currently operates two stores with the potential to grow to more than 80 stores. In addition to San Diego, At Home is opening six additional stores in July, with locations in Tennessee, Ohio, Georgia, Indiana and Pennsylvania.

“With our long-term goal of opening more than 600 stores nationwide, we continue to be excited about the significant whitespace in front of us,” said Lee Bird, At Home chairman and CEO, Lee Bird. “As one of the fastest-growing retailers in the nation, we believe we are well-positioned for our next phase of growth with the compelling strength of our new store pipeline.”

At Home stores average more than 100,000 sq. ft. and feature more than 50,000 home décor items. Since its IPO nearly three years ago, the company has grown its annual store footprint, net sales and profits by more than 20%. In addition, since launching the “Insider Perks” loyalty program, At Home has grown the program to 5 million members.
