An online indie luxury-sneaker brand is extending its brick-and-mortar presence.

The digitally native Greats, billed as the first sneaker brand born in Brooklyn, is set to open a store in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood on April 20. The outpost follows the debut of the start-up’s first store, which opened in Venice, California, earlier this year.

The 500-sq.-ft. SoHo space has a sleek showroom feel, with clean lines and a hip ambience. In addition to exclusive products, the store will serve as a community hub for Greats fans, with regular events.

Founded by Ryan Babenzien, who serves as its CEO, Greats launched online in 2013, and quickly developed a devoted following. In the competitive sneaker category, the brand has carved its own niche with a lineup of Italian leather sneakers (for men and women) that combine classic luxury with a Brooklyn edge. Prices range from $79 to $299.

In addition to selling its products online and in its stores, Greats is partnering with Nordstrom. It products will be available in 20-plus Nordstrom stores this year.
