Skechers opens its 'Performance' store in the U.S.
Skechers has brought its experiential "Performance" store format to the United States.
Located at Dolphin Mall in Miami, the 26,017-sq.-ft. the performance-oriented store is the footwear company's largest factory mall store in the world. It features an immersive environment that includes a running racetrack, basketball and pickleball courts, golf green and soccer and sport adventure areas, with the sales floor surrounded by state-of-the-art digital LED screens. The store also features selfie areas localized with Miami-centric graphics.
The merchandise assortment includes footwear, apparel and accessories for basketball, running, soccer, golf, pickleball and the outdoors.
With the opening in Miami, Skechers has rolled out its new format at five locations, including West Edmonton Mall in Alberta, Canada. Additional locations include stores in Europe and Chile.
“The Skechers Performance retail era is in full force: from our first flagship store earlier this year in Canada to two new locations in Europe this spring and our recently opened destination in Chile, all have shown how enthusiastic our consumers are for our Comfort that Performs,” said Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers. “At our largest factory mall location, Skechers’ World of Sports showcases all that’s revolutionary about our one-of-a-kind technologies for the 36 million annually who frequent one of the highest-traffic tourist malls in the country."
Minnesota Timberwolves power forward and Skechers athlete Julius Randle joined shoppers on Aug. 29 to celebrate the grand opening of the store.

Headquartered in Manhattan Beach, Calif., Skechers’ products are available in 180 countries and territories through department and specialty stores, and direct to consumers through Skechers.com and more than 5,300 Skechers retail stores.
