Simon and Brookfield vets take over leasing at Tanger

Ex-Simon Premium Outlets chief Stephen Yalof, who took the helm of Tanger Factory Outlets at the beginning of the year, has intensified the chain’s Simon-esque flavor with a new hire.

Steve Dworkin has been named senior VP of real estate at the Greensboro, N.C.-based company. Over 17 years at Simon, Dworkin managed all aspects of site selection and site acquisition for the development of new Premium Outlets throughout North America. Tanger intends to use that expertise to help it monetize excess land to drive growth at existing properties, it said in a release.

Joining Dworkin at the head of Tanger’s leasing team is Steven Silverstein, who spent the last eight years at Brookfield Properties, leaving as senior director of leasing. He finished 2019 as the No. 3 dealmaker at the company.

The leader of Tanger’s new “Band of Steves” foresees a bright future with the new help.
