Rising 'urban resort village' in Tucson names its first retail tenants
Uptown — a 2.5 million-sq.-ft. mixed-use remake of Tucson’s Foothills Mall — is set to open this month with the debut of The Astrie residential community and has announced its first signed retail and restaurant tenants.
Barnes & Noble, eateries Clio and Memoir, and Los Milics Vineyards are scheduled to be open and operating in the spring of 2027 along with a Hilton Tempo hotel.
“Every tenant at Uptown is being selected with long-term intention and a shared commitment to creating something meaningful and lasting for the Tucson community,” said Don Bourn, CEO of Bourn Companies, owner and developer of the project. “We are excited to introduce new experiences to the Tucson market while contributing to the sense of connection we are creating throughout the project.”
Los Milics, a wine tasting room that operates a downtown location in Tucson, is a showcase for the wine country of Southern Arizona.
“Los Milics has always been a love letter to this place — its landscapes, people, agriculture, and sense of welcome,” said winemaker Pavle Milics. “Tucson is an extraordinary food city, and we are excited to welcome both longtime supporters and new guests into our Uptown tasting room.”
Clio and Memoir are food and beverage concepts of the Omaha-based Flagship Restaurant Group, which has signed long-term leases for the two spaces.
Clio is a modern Mediterranean concept featuring mezze, spreads, salads, and entrées, complemented by a tailored cocktail program and a sommelier-selected European wine list.
Memoir is an American grill concept offering reimagined classic dishes and sushi in an elevated setting that emphasizes a ‘refined guest experience,” according to Flagship.
Uptown is Bourn Companies’ 2.5 million-square-foot redevelopment of the former Foothills Mall. The walkable mixed-use project will integrate residences, retail, dining, hospitality-driven concepts, entertainment, office, wellness, and public gathering spaces into “a connected environment centered around experience, community,” according to Bourn.
