WS Development to build new Connecticut outlet center
Cheshire, Conn. -- WS Development, based in Chestnut Hill, Mass., announced plans to build an open-air shopping, dining and entertainment complex in Cheshire, Conn., called The Outlets at Cheshire.
The center will also include public open space, walkways, recreation amenities, a residential component and full service grocer.
“The decision to build a destination outlet center is in large part due to the very strong retail interest in the project and the success of outlet centers today,” said Mark Roberts, senior VP leasing, WS Development.
Construction on the 500,000-sq.-ft. project is slated to start in early 2014 with a projected opening of summer 2015.
Project features include a pedestrian-friendly layout that will function as an open-air streetscape with landscaped courtyards and park-like settings throughout the complex.
