Whole Foods’ new 365 format to anchor Butler Town Center

2/16/2016

Whole Foods Market’s 365 store concept is the first anchor to be announced for Butler Town Center, in Gainesville, Florida. It is also the first 365 location to be announced for the state of Florida.

"Every great neighborhood needs a local market, where a community comes together and literally sustains itself, and we've found the perfect one for our neighborhood in the making," said Deborah Butler president of developer Butler Enterprises. "365 by Whole Foods is one of the newest and most exciting concepts in retail today, and we're thrilled that Whole Foods Market chose Gainesville, and specifically Butler Town Center, in the recent announcement of five locations for this new concept."

Smaller and lower priced than a traditional Whole Foods grocery store, 365 by Whole Foods Market will open in advance of the 2018 opening of the Town Center. Scheduled to begin construction this spring, Butler Town Center is the newest phase of the iconic 45-year-old Butler Plaza located at the Archer Road (State Road 24) exit of Interstate 75.

The Town Center will be the development's first mixed-use component, consisting of 350,000 sq. ft. of new-to-market specialty retail, restaurants, residences and hotel to be announced.

Butler Town Center will create a new pedestrian-oriented shopping experience for Gainesville and surrounding areas. In addition to a carefully curated selection of fashion, specialty retailers and fine dining, the center will boast enhanced architecture and amenities to serve local customers, daytime employees, hotel guests and visitors from around the region.

Butler Town Center serves as the upmarket capstone to the original 100-store Butler Plaza and the destination-oriented Butler North, creating a market-dominating 267-acre retailing powerhouse to meet the total shopping needs of north central Florida.

Butler Plaza is owned, developed and managed by locally based Butler Enterprises.
