Experts are weighing in on the retailers that stand to benefit the most from Sears Holdings Corp.’s bankruptcy filing, which includes closing another 142 stores.
J.C. Penney could benefit the most, according to Gordon Haskett analyst Chuck Grom, reported CNBC. Penney has a store within a quarter mile of roughly 47% of Sears' locations, Haskett said in a note to clients. After Penney, Walmart is the next closest when looking at geographies, the report said.
