Walmart Supercenter christens new California center

4/13/2017
NewMark Merrill’s decade-long quest to open a shopping center outside of San Bernardino became reality with the opening of its Walmart Supercenter anchor.

The 239,552-sq.-ft. Rialto Marketplace is due to be fully operational in June, when the doors will open for tenants including Starbuck’s, Sprint, Chipotle, Les Schwab Tires, Carl’s Jr., and Ono Hawaiian BBQ.

“It took us over 13 years to secure the site, entitlements, and development plan for the new Wal-Mart Supercenter and our other stores, but the hard work has paid off,” said NewMark Merrill CEO Sandy Sigal.

The project, which is nearly 100% leased, “will employ over 200 full-time employees, revitalize the south portion of Rialto, and bring significant tax income to the community,” Sigal said.

NewMark Merrill operates 86 centers in California, Colorado, and Illinois.
