Walmart to open new supercenter in Sarasota, Fla.

Moreland Hills, Ohio Heritage Development Co. said Thursday that it has closed a transaction with Wal-Mart in Sarasota, Fla., that will expand an existing Walmart store into a supercenter.

Wal-Mart has purchased a portion of Wolstein’s Centre at University Parkway and will soon start demolition to expand the current store it has to a supercenter in March.

The expansion is slated for completion in early 2011.
