Theater, restaurants to open at Del Mar Highlands Town Center

San Diego Costa Mesa, Calif.-based Donahue Schriber announced the signing of new tenants at Del Mar Highlands Town Center as a part of a remerchandising and renovation at the 20-year-old center that began this summer.

Located in northern San Diego County's Carmel Valley, the open-air Del Mar Highlands Town Center will soon welcome Rimel's Rotisserie, Carmel Valley Swirls yogurt shop and The Counter.  All are expected to open in mid 2011.

UltraStar Cinemas is bringing San Diego County its first luxury boutique theater, UltraLuxe Cinemas, being unveiled at Del Mar Highlands Town Center. Scheduled to get underway in January, the current theater building will undergo an extensive upgrade that will convert it to a luxury boutique theater, called UltraLuxe Cinemas, the first of its kind for the company.

The existing theater will close in January and re-open summer 2011 with improvements that include: eight auditoriums featuring four state-of-the-art Pure Digital 3D screens, high-back reclining chairs, in-seat food ordering, on-line ticketing, and reserved seating. UltraStar Cinemas is headquartered in San Diego County and operates 145 screens at 15 sites throughout Southern California and Arizona.

Donahue Schriber began the Del Mar Highlands redevelopment project in August 2010, with physical changes that will enhance the guest experience, adding restaurants and retail, and improved parking and traffic flow on a phased timeline.
