Target gets OK to open first San Francisco store
New York City -- The last bureaucratic hurdles have been cleared for the construction of San Francisco’s first Target location. Gavin Newsom, the mayor of San Francisco, announced Tuesday that the final permits had been issued to begin building the downtown store in January.
The 85,000-sq.-ft. Target will be located in the city’s Westfield Metreon Center. The retail and entertainment complex is undergoing a major redevelopment project.
The store is scheduled to open in mid-2012.
