Takashimaya to close NYC flagship

New York City Japanese retailer Takashimaya is closing its New York City flagship on Fifth Avenue in June, according to Crain’s New York Business.

The location has been opened since 1993.

In other news, Takashimaya Co. will no longer be merging with H2O Retailing Corp., parent company of Hankyu and Hanshin department stores.

A Takashimaya company spokeswoman mentioned that six additional stores in Japan have been closed.
