Starbucks Seattle location will offer wine and beer

6/28/2010

New YorkCity Starbucks Coffee Corp. is remodeling a store in the trendy Capitol Hill area of Seattle, and reopening it with a much different design and expanded menu offerings. It will be the chain's only U.S. location that sells beer and wine.

With muted, earthy colors, an indoor-outdoor fireplace, and cushy chairs, the 2,500-sq.-ft. shop will feature as 360-degree coffee and wine bar, the Associated Press reported. The wine will be from the Pacific Northwest's vineyards and the beer from local craft brewers. The wine and beer will be paired with savory food offerings.

In other changes, counters in the redesigned store will be narrower to bring customers closer to the baristas. Two Clover machines will make cups of coffee to order, and the store will also offer the trendy pour-over brewing method.
