Smashburger to enter San Diego market

10/30/2009

New York City Smashburger has signed a deal with a San Diego company to open seven restaurants in that market in the next two years, marking the Denver-based franchise restaurant’s entry into Southern California, according to the Denver Business Journal.

It will partner with Smash Bros LLC, a nontraditional retail and commercial development firm and partner company to Elkins-Whisenhunt.

Smashburger has signed franchise agreements to open more than 300 stores across the country, including about 40 expected to be operating by year-end. Two locations expected to open next year in Sacramento will represent its first stores in California.
