Simon unveils expansion plans for Fashion Centre

Arlington, Va. — Simon Property Group has announced details of a multi-phase renovation and expansion at The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City in Arlington, Va. Anchored by Nordstrom and Macy’s, The Fashion Centre is home to more than 170 stores.



Plans call for construction to begin soon on a 50,000-sq.-ft. expansion to the property along Hayes Street. The expansion will include a new feature entrance to the mall, a new office lobby and two levels of new retail shops and restaurants with outdoor seating. The improvements include a new valet parking area, landscaping and vehicle entrances and exits. The new shops and restaurants will be announced soon.



The renovations will replace the existing elevators and escalators with a new escalator added to improve access from the ground level to the Metro level.



A complete interior common area renovation will include new flooring, handrails, directional signage, an updated third floor restroom, energy efficient lighting and soft seating.



In the food court, renovations will expand seating areas and install new furnishings.



Retails are renovating, too. Aldo, Ann Taylor and Sephora completed renovations within the last year.



House of Hoops by Foot Locker recently joined the retail roster, and Free People is set to open in the mall later this summer.
