Schreer acquires Houston shopping center

7/30/2009

Houston Locally based Schreer Partnership Interests said Wednesday that it has purchased Steeplechase Shopping Center, a 194,000-sq.-ft. community retail center in northwest Houston.

As part of the acquisition, Schreer said it has planned renovations for the center, including a new exterior facade and signage, to attract national tenants. Current tenants include Palais Royal, 99 Cents Only, Anna’s Linens and Capital One Bank.

Schreer acquired the center from Weingarten Realty Investors for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition brings Schreer’s Houston portfolio to three centers, and the company said it has additional retail acquisitions planned over the next two to three years.
