Samsung Mall, an app for the Indian market that let shoppers identify objects around them and make purchases online, has been shut down by the company.
The AI-powered app came pre-installed on several of the company’s smartphone models sold in India, and though it garnered nearly 10 million downloads, that total fell short of company expectations, according to
Tizenhelp.com.
Samsung Mall linked to e-commerce platforms including Amazon, TATA CliQ, ShopClues, and Jabong.
A notification sent to users saying, “Thank you for your support, Samsung Mall will be discontinued, and service will not be available from 30th June 2019.”
