Saks Fifth Avenue has opened its third Canadian location.
Located at the CF Chinook Centre in Calgary, the 115,000-sq.-ft., two-level and houses a diverse selection of both women’s and men’s offerings. An in-store restaurant, and a salon are slated to open soon.
The store design and planning teams from Hudson’s Bay Company (Saks’ parent company) partnered with Stantec, an Edmonton-based engineering, design and consultancy firm, on the design. The modern interior boasts dramatic design elements that enhance and unite all of the brands and spaces inside the store. The design has an understated palette, featuring mixed metal fixtures throughout. It incorporates an eclectic mix of found and custom furniture, fixtures, decorative lighting and accessories, along with hand-crafted and hand-applied materials and finishes.
“Our strategy for all stores in North America is to create one-of-a-kind experiences for our clients ― this is what we call ‘The New Luxury,” stated Marc Metrick, president, Saks Fifth Avenue.
Saks Calgary offers an array of luxury and experiential service offerings, including a private jewelry viewing space, beauty treatment rooms and private shopping suites. The suites are adjacent to the second floor where Style Advisors provide the quintessential, personalized Saks styling expertise.
Saks operates 42 full-line stores in 22 states, plus Puerto Rico and Canada; five international licensed stores, and an e-commerce site.
