Ross Stores opens 40 stores; expands longer-term growth plans
Ross Stores has completed its 2018 store growth plans.
The off-pricer said it opened 30 namesake stores and 10 dd’s Discounts stores across 19 states in September and October. With the openings, the retailer has met its target of opening 99 stores in 2018. It now operates 1,438 Ross and 237 dd’s stores.
"This fall, we continued to expand our Ross and dd's footprints across our existing markets as well as expansion in our newer market – the Midwest," said Jim Fassio, president and chief development officer. “Looking ahead, we continue to believe there is plenty of opportunity to further expand our store base for both chains given consumers' ongoing focus on value. As such, we recently updated our longer-term growth store potential to reflect our confidence that Ross can grow to 2,400 locations and dd's can become a chain of 600 stores."
