Rice Lake Square completes renovation
Wheaton, Ill. -- Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.-based Mid-America Asset Management announced that the expansive renovation of Rice Lake Square, in Wheaton, Ill., has been completed.
The 251,313-sq.-ft. shopping center, renovated over a five-month period, received new roof uplighting and tower elements, two new pedestrian plazas, several parking spaces, improvements to traffic flow and landscaping, and new signage that was placed last December.
According to Mid-America Asset Manager, which oversaw the renovation, the property’s owner Grosvenor Americas wanted to improve the property’s placement in the local market so that when the recession was over, retailers would see this as the premier shopping center in the area.
The architect on the project was Pappageorge Haymes Partners, civil engineer was SpaceCo, Inc., landscape architect was Hitchcock Design Group and the general contractor was Pepper Construction.
This is the first major enhancement to Rice Lake Square since it was constructed in two phases between 1990 and 1992. Anchors include Whole Foods, Stein Mart and PetsMart.
