Report: Spartan Passes on Farmer Jack Chain

Detroit, The Detroit Free Press reported that Spartan Stores declined to acquire Farmer Jack, the 70-store chain owned by the Great Atlantic and Pacific Tea Co.

Farmer Jack has been on the market since May; thus far, Spartan has been its most serious suitor.
