Report: Jewel-Osco to close small-format, urban format

New York City Jewel-Osco plans to shutter Urban Fresh, its small-format grocery store, at the end of October, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The store, in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago, is Jewel's first and only Urban Fresh.

Jewel-Osco’s parent company Supervalu opened the 16,000-sq.-ft. Urban Fresh in September 2008.
