Report: Fresh & Easy set for major Northern California push

New York City Fresh & Easy, the U.S. arm of British grocery giant Tesco, is preparing for major expansion in the Northern California market, the Financial Times reported.

According to the report, Tesco is purchasing store sites and building a distribution center to support Northern California expansion, despite saying in April it had put plans to increase its presence in that region on hold.

Fresh & Easy currently operates about 125 stores in Arizona, California and Nevada, including about 50 locations in Northern California.
