Report: Amazon Go comes closer to reality in London

Amazon has reportedly obtained real estate in London that could be used for an Amazon Go store, according to TechCrunch.

Amazon currently operates 10 stores in its Amazon Go cashierless format – four each in Seattle and Chicago, along with two in San Francisco. If Amazon does wind up using this space to open an Amazon Go outlet in London, it would mark the first Amazon Go store outside the U.S. In December, The Telegraph reported Amazon was looking for a retail space ranging between 3,000 sq. ft. to 5,000 sq. ft. in the heart of London’s busy West End, near Oxford Circus.

The specific location or locations of the London real estate Amazon has acquired have not been revealed. TechCrunch cites reports from The Grocer and Reuters in its article.
