Regency signs 23,500 sq. ft. at Atlanta shopping centers

Atlanta -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said Tuesday it has leased more than 23,500 sq. ft. of retail and restaurant space for seven new merchant locations in the Atlanta metro market.



According to Andre Koleszar, Regency Centers’ VP and regional officer, Atlanta-area retail business is getting stronger. “We’ve seen leasing activity recovering and retailers are attracted to shopping centers in prime locations with a merchandising mix that attracts upscale customers, ” he said.



At Roswell Crossing, new tenants have leased a total of 18,273 sq. ft. of space including: Sports Lab, a sport-specific strength training, conditioning and rehabilitation center, has leased 12,750 sq. ft. and is slated to open in January. Your Pie, a restaurant that features make-your-own pizza, is now open in 2,823 sq. ft. Barkers Red Hots, a restaurant specializing in charcoal-broiled hot dogs, has leased 2,700 sq. ft. of space.



New tenants at Powers Ferry Square shopping center have leased a total of 5,246 sq. ft. The businesses include: Pretty Please, a children’s boutique, has leased 2,753 sq. ft. with an opening date scheduled in January 2011. Pigtails & Crewcuts, a children’s hair salon, has leased 1,267 sq. ft. and is scheduled to open in January. Cup Cake Lingerie, a lingerie boutique, has leased 622 sq. ft. and is also scheduled to open in January. Full Cup, a 604-sq.-ft. organic bakery and coffeehouse, is scheduled to open in December.



Roswell Crossing, in Roswell, Ga., is a 201,979-sq.-ft. shopping center anchored by Office Max, PetSmart, Trader Joe’s, Pike Nurseries and Walgreens.



Powers Ferry Square, in Atlanta, is a 95,701-sq.-ft. neighborhood shopping center anchored by CVS/pharmacy.



Regency Centers has 25 shopping centers in the Atlanta market totaling 2.1 million sq. ft.
