Presidio Junction readies for vertical development

6/19/2009

Fort Worth, Texas LNR Commercial Property Group, based in Newport Beach, Calif., said Thursday it is putting the finishing touches on infrastructure construction at its mixed-use development Presidio Junction in north Fort Worth.

The 300-acre development will feature more than 1 million sq. ft. of retail, restaurants and shops, 1,300 apartment units and 750,000 sq. ft. of fitness, hotel and Class A office space.

Vertical construction has already begun on 348 apartment units within the development that will begin leasing this summer.

The retail component of Presidio Junction is being handled by The Weitzman Group; the first major retailers will include a Lowe’s home improvement center, along with other national chains set to open next year.  Restaurants in the works include three sit-down restaurants and four quick-service concepts.

“Presidio Junction is ideally positioned at a high-profile site in the I-35W corridor, which has seen an explosion of growth due to its key position as the most important north-west thoroughfare in the trade area," said Brian Glaser, president of the D/FW Commercial Retail Division of The Weitzman Group.
