Pizza chain expanding into 17 new states

Nearly half a century after entering the franchise business, Gatti’s Pizza has announced an aggressive expansion plan that will take it into 17 new states.

Known for its buffet-style pizza format, the Fort Worth-based chain will be placing a new emphasis on its Mr. Gatti’s table-service format as it moves into new territory in the Southeast, West, and Midwest. Mr. Gatti’s had its heyday in the 1970s and ‘80s with game rooms, and that concept finds new relevance in an age of expanding food-and-games brands like Dave & Busters.”

"With the emergence of the new wave of pizza options sweeping the restaurant industry, the time is right to reintroduce the original Mr. Gatti's concept,” said Gatti’s Pizza president Michael Poates.

The states targeted for expansion are Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, North Carolina, Utah, and Wyoming.

Currently Gatti’s has 42 franchisees operating under the Gatti's brand in 76 locations in Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.
