PetSmart reaches store milestone


PetSmart continues to expand its brick-and-mortar presence across North America.

The company has opened 1,500th store, in Sheridan, Colorado. The location is one of approximately 80 new stores the pet specialty retailer is opening in 2016 in new markets as well as in convenient locations in current markets.

“We are ramping up efforts to expand our retail footprint in North America. said Michael Massey, president and CEO, PetSmart. “At the same time, just last week, we launched the news of our new and improved, mobile-responsive site, a key omnichannel strategy for us.”

The Sheridan store features nearly 18,000 sq. ft. of space and is the first store to include a “Pinnacle Pet Nutrition” section, an expanded collection of pet food products featuring high-protein, natural, grain-free, minimally processed and raw pet food. This pet food type is the fastest growing in the overall pet food category.

In addition to a full line of pet supply products, the store features offers pet training and adoption services and a full-service grooming salon.
