Nordstrom Rack to open in Austin

Seattle Nordstrom said Tuesday that it will open a Nordstrom Rack at the Gateway Center in Austin, Texas, this fall.

The 35,000-sq.-ft. store will be the chain’s first Austin-area Rack store, and the fifth Nordstrom Rack in Texas. The company opened a new Rack store in Dallas last week.

Simon Properties Group owns the Gateway Center. Other retailers in the mall include Best Buy, The Container Store, Crate & Barrel, Old Navy, Regal Cinemas, REI, Smith & Hawken and Whole Foods Market.

Nordstrom currently operates 58 Nordstrom Rack locations.
