Nordstrom to open Rack outlet in downtown Chicago

Seattle Nordstrom will open a Nordstrom Rack discount outlet in downtown Chicago this fall.

The 36,000-sq.-ft. store, located on East Chicago Avenue between North Michigan Avenue and North Rush Street, is due to open in fall 2010. It will be the second Nordstrom Rack location in downtown Chicago and its seventh in the Chicago area. The retailer operates a full-line store about a mile away on Michigan Avenue.

“This is a terrific location just off the Magnificent Mile that is easily accessible and part of a strong retail mix,” said Scott Meden, president of Nordstrom Rack, in a statement.

Nordstrom currently operates 69 Rack locations and 112 full-line stores.
