Nike’s newest showplace

8/5/2015

New York -- Nike has given its Seattle flagship a makeover that includes technology to help customers select running shoes that are the perfect match for their feet and gait.

Located on Sixth Avenue and Pike Street, the store incorporates unique design elements, including a custom neon sculpture celebrating sport icons and a number of the city's cultural symbols. An art installation signed by Seattle Seahawks players honors Seattle's sports fans.

“Nike Seattle was redesigned with this active and energetic community in mind, with the aim to deliver it our most innovative products and personalized services,” explained Dennis van Oossanen, VP of Nike North America direct to consumer.

The store features the company’s new run analysis technology whereby a staffer, using Nike technology, analyzes a customer’s running stride on an in-store treadmill. The associate makes product recommendations based on the results of the test. And as an added bonus, customers are given a video of the test.

The store also allows for in-store and Nike.com purchases through a single mobile transaction. And if the store doesn’t carry a particular size or color scheme of a product, Nike will ship it to the customer free of charge.
