New store dedicated to green lifestyle debuts

North Bergen, N.J. Eco Shoppe, a new retail concept dedicated to eco-friendly products for healthy personal environments and everyday living, has opened its first store, in Austin, Texas. The store is owned and operated by The Vitamin Shoppe.

The 4,400-sq. ft. store was designed by Kiku Obata & Co., which assisted Vitamin Shoppe in developing the Eco Shoppe brand, store experience and unique merchandise mix to support the goal of making green living a more engaging and uncomplicated proposition for shoppers.

Eco Shoppe expects to receive LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification, as the store has been designed to take advantage of an environmentally responsible vision. All the Eco Shoppe casework was manufactured at IDX Seattle, an FSC-Certified division of IDX Corp. In addition, IDX provided sustainability guidance.
