New L.L. Bean store opens at Legacy Place

Dedham, Mass. L.L. Bean’s newest store -- a two-level, 30,000-sq.-ft. space -- opened Friday to thousands of customers and a line that stretched one-half mile outside the store’s front doors at Legacy Place shopping center in Dedham, Mass.

The first 500 entrants received gift cards ranging in value from $25 to $500.

L.L. Bean is the first retailer to open at the 675,000-sq.-ft. open-air center that is slated for an Aug. 27 unveiling. Other committed retailers include Whole Foods Market, Showcase Cinema de Lux, Borders, Anthropologie, Brooks Brothers Country Club, Legal Sea Foods, P.F. Chang’s and Urban Outfitters.
