New dining center for downtown Jacksonville
New York’s Brooklyn is the only Brooklyn in the nation. Jacksonville, too, has a Brooklyn section and it’s about to get a new dining center.
Brooklyn Place, an 11,500-sq.-ft. development by the Ferber Company, will position Panera Bread, Chipotle, and Bento Asian Kitchen + Sushi adjacent to Regency Centers’ Brooklyn Station in downtown Jacksonville.
Vacant for decades, the 1.5-acre site is under contract by Ferber, which plans to close on the deal and break ground by mid-summer.
“Creating a pedestrian-friendly development that connects with the community has been our top priority,” said Tom Mundy, VP of retail development services at Ferber. “We expect the amenities that we have lined up for Brooklyn Place to appeal to both nearby residents as well as daytime workers taking advantage of the Riverside Avenue pedestrian promenade.”
Ferber plans for all tenants to be open for business at Brooklyn Place by next summer.
