More offline moves from Warby Parker

10/2/2015

It’s been a busy fall for hip eyewear marketer Warby Parker.

The company opened its first permanent location in Washington, D.C., in the Georgetown section.

The 1,230-sq.-ft. store features Warby Parker’s signature classic library design, with custom brass library lamps, suspended globe lighting, chevron wood flooring, walnut shelving, and banquette seating for reading and relaxing.

In other news, Warby Parker is set to make its debut in Seattle, opening its third “annex” location (annex locations are developed around a certain theme, and are often a prelude to the company opening a permanent store).

The Seattle shop is built around a "writer's block" theme, and includes a stacked-book window installation, desks, typewriters (!) and a cement block on which customers are invited to write down a five-word memoir.

Warby Parker describes its stores as combining the “snappy ease of online ordering with the fun and serendipity of real-life shopping (with a photo booth or two).”
