Mini Cooper commits to Centerra

5/7/2009

Loveland, Colo. Mini Cooper will open a facility at the Centerra lifestyle center complex in Loveland, Colo. According to the center’s developer, McWhinney Enterprises, the dealership will be part of the 100-acre motorplex at Centerra.

Owned by Co’s BMW Group, Mini of Loveland will offer a full sales, service and parts center. Groundbreaking is slated for June.

Designed by Kenney & Associates, the stand-alone Mini Cooper facility will be approximately 10,000 sq. ft. and constructed of black steel and glass, highlighted with exterior and interior splashes of neon color. To add interactivity to the design, customers can play in a Mini game room, use interactive tools to imagine and "test out" the experience of becoming a Mini owner and take part in regular driving events.

In 2008, Mini Cooper reported a 38% increase in sales over 2007. In 2009, the company said it plans to add a total of five to eight new franchises in the United States.
