McWhinney names a ‘Mayor’ of Denver’s Dairy Block

10/11/2016

Simon and General Growth Properties veteran Tom Martin has joined McWhinney’s development team as VP of mixed-use operations and general manager of Dairy Block.

A McWhinney press release said that Martin will also hold the title of Mayor of Dairy Block, a mixed-use project the company is building in the Lower Downtown, or LoDo, section of Denver. The neighborhood houses Coors Field, Union Station, boutiques, and galleries.

Dairy Block will include retail and hospitality space with column-free floor plates as large as 45,000 sq. ft. available. Also on the boards are a 260,000-sq.-ft. office building, a conference facility, and a fitness center.

Martin, who previously worked at McWhinney as GM of mixed-use, returned to the company from GGP, where he was senior manager in the company’s Hoover, Alabama, office. At Simon, he served as general asset manager in the Atlanta office.
